This Christmas break has flown by! I can't believe that Christmas is already over and I go back to school on Monday. I was sick the first half of the break so maybe that is why it seemed so fast. There was so much that needed to be done that got forgotten because I was sick. Cards didn't get sent out, presents didn't get bought, goodies weren't made but time was spent with family and we were focused on the true meaning of Christmas. It was nice to not get completely caught up in the hustle and bustle of the commercialized holiday.
I have lots of pictures and they are a little scattered so bear with me.
We were able to drive down to my parent's house in Georgia again this year. We read Luke 2 and opened our Christmas "jammies" on Christmas Eve. Adelyn got her first Underarmour shirt and it is pretty adorable! Christmas morning was so fun! We brought Adelyn in to look at her stocking. She saw the chocolate and didn't care about the rest of the goodies inside after that! She takes after her mama and is a chocoholic!
Here she is again as we are opening presents. She is only interested in the "choc" as she calls it!
She finally figured out that the presents had fun things wrapped inside. She was so happy and never stopped smiling the whole time we were there!
She was putting on a show here. She loved all the toys and attention.
My parents have been dying for grandkids come to visit more often. They converted the room we had the pool table into a playroom. The sunroom was also filled with toys! Adelyn loved playing with the Christmas decals on the window.
My brother gave Adelyn her first rock climbing harness. Travis and my brother both love climbing and they are hoping to pass it on to her!
She took a minute to warm up to it, but loved flying around!

This picture cracks me up! She was sick and couldn't breathe through her nose so her tongue is hanging out and she has crazy bed head! Does anyone take care of that poor child?
My mom (Gigi) helped Adelyn decorate cookies for the first time. She was shy at first...
but then became a wild child! Look at that evil grin as she is dumping sprinkles everywhere!
She literally licked the sprinkles off the plate and pushed the cookie aside. She knows what's best!
I had to include this picture. It seriously makes me laugh out loud every time I see it. Adelyn and my brother went to scare my dad. He jumped when they did and ended up scaring her more! It was so funny! Her little lip stuck out and started to quiver. She was trying to be so brave and not cry! My dad felt terrible!
We were able to go to my cousin Ben's wedding while we were in town. This little lady is too cute!
I loved seeing family and being reminded of the promises I made when I got married!
In her Christmas dress. This is my great-grandmother's rocking chair. She took pictures with the same chair last year so my mom wants to make it a tradition.
Recently I read an article about making your child's childhood magical. It mentioned how parents today are trying way too hard to make memories and over the top experiences for their child and that childhood itself is what is magical. The innocence and experiencing things for the first time. I can honestly say that after looking through these pictures it is the child that is magical. We didn't do anything crazy to create experiences for her. I was sick most of the week! She was just happy experiencing all the things around her. I am grateful this little munchkin continues to teach me about life every day!
