Crawling!

Adelyn has started crawling!!

I know those experienced moms will laugh at my excitement because my life will be changed.  Now I have to make sure and keep things up off the floor and worry about her eating things she isn't supposed to.  It is time to start baby proofing I guess.

I think it is so cute though!  She is much happier because she can get what she wants on her own and she doesn't have to rely on me as much.  I love when she crawls over to me and lays her head on my feet or legs.

Here she is yesterday.  I consider this her first real day.  It is the first day that she crawled across the room without stopping.  I am so excited and proud of her!

Sorry it is sideways.  I can't figure out how to rotate it.

7 Months!!

I don't know how it happened so fast, but Adelyn just turned 7 months old!  I love being a mom and watching her learn and grow!  It is amazing how fast they change!  Since I didn't post her 6 month updates, this will be for the past two months.
Adelyn has started getting around more and more.  She pushes herself backwards, she rolls, she scoots forward on her tummy, she scoots on her bum, or whatever to get to where she wants.  She does the rocking thing that makes me think that she will be crawling any day.
Just recently she has learned how to go from laying on her tummy to pushing herself up to a sitting position.
She LOVES to eat baby food.  She thinks she is an adult and wants to eat whatever we have too!
She is still a happy, easy-going baby!  She loves attention from anyone and laughs easily!
She got sick for the first time this month.  She is almost over it.  She was just very congested, had a runny nose and cough. It made for some really long nights with her waking up every couple of hours.  Let's just say that it has made me grateful for how well she used to sleep! Cross your fingers that she will go back to normal after she gets well!
Critics out there won't believe me, but she has said her first word.  She can say hi and dada.  After she said hi a couple of times I realize how much we say it to her and I decided it was fair to count it as her first word.  I don't think she knows what it means, but she does say it.  She says dada less often and it is more of when she is just making sounds.  As much as I hate to admit, she does look at Travis when I say daddy, so she knows what it means.  Moms never get the credit do they?
I am excited for her next few milestones even though I know our life will change!

4 Months!

Adelyn Jane is the most adorable 4 month old I have ever seen!  I am a few days late, but she just turned 4 months old.  It has gone by so quickly, but at the same time it is hard for me to remember life before her.  I love spending everyday with her and watching her learn and grow!

At her 4 month check-up, she received another round of shots.  :(  She only cried a minute and then was back to her smiley self!  She did get a fever this time though.  She weighs 14.2 pounds (48th percentile) and is 24.5 inches long (51st percentile).  The doctor said that she is perfect and I can't agree more!

Excuse the blurry iphone photo.  She was sitting and I didn't have time to run and grab my good camera.  I can't believe how big she is getting!

At 4 months:
-She can roll from tummy to back (but she doesn't like to do it often) and is working on going from back to tummy.
-She loves to sleep on her side and cuddle with her teddy bear.
-She prefers to sit up rather than lay flat.
-She can hold herself in a sitting position for a short amount of time.
-She drools like crazy and puts everything in her mouth!
-Her favorite toy is a pink ball.
-She is definitely a mama's girl but she loves her daddy too!
-She loves attention!  It doesn't matter who it is, she just likes someone playing with her.
-And she loves to laugh!

She was in such a funny mood this afternoon when I was changing her.  I tell Travis how much she laughs in the afternoon and he always tells me to get it on camera and this time I did!  Sorry you have to listen to my baby voice!

3 Months

Last Saturday was Adelyn's 3 month birthday.  I can not believe how fast time has flown!  On her birthday, she was stuck in her carseat all day as we drove down to Emerald Isle.  The following Saturday was her 100th day of being alive and once again she was stuck in her car seat as we drove home.

Although she was in her carseat for both those big days, she definitely has seen her fair share of adventures.  Travis and I began to think about all the things that she has done the past three months and it has been a lot.  I guess that is one of the benefits of being born right before summer begins!  It is fun because everytime we go do something, it is her first time.

Aside from all the fun things, she has developed a ton.  She went from being my tiny newborn to miss social!  Over the past week even, you can see different milestones.  She learned how to really roll over and started to giggle!  She rolled over at about 3 weeks but I think it was a fluke.  She did it a couple times but after she gained some weight she stopped.  It is still a lot of work for her with her chub, but she can do it now.  My favorite milestone is her giggling!  I LOVE it!  At the beach it all started while we were giving her a bath.  I think Travis made a face at her and she laughed.  Travis and I both laughed in response and she thought it was hilarious and laughed some more.  I find myself trying to get her to laugh all the time now.  I pretend to eat her tummy and it cracks her up!

At 3 months, she is still sleeping through the night!  Wahoo!  She doesn't hate tummy time as much and her neck is getting pretty strong.  She loves to play with her pink ball.  She will just stare at it and put it in her mouth.  She "talks" all the time!  I love it!  If you coo at her, she will coo back and she is very good at holding conversations.  She loves to eat and you can tell by looking at her!  People comment on her rolls and say things like, "she is a healthy baby" or "she doesn't miss a meal does she."

This past week she has really made a connection with Travis.  She used to just want me to comfort her, but now she wants Travis too.  This makes my heart smile!

Adelyn is still the center of our world and I can't tell you how much I love my sweet baby!
